Meet the Maker

Chelsea Born has been creating jewelry since 2013 when she was gifted a 6 week metalsmithing course at the local arts center.  She quickly fell in love and signed up for a second course, while working on her skills at home.  After moving to Atlanta, and giving up her job, she decided to focus on creating jewelry full time.  With her love of animals and nature, her background in working with wildlife and aquariums, and a college degree in Ecology, her work has naturally taken on ecological themes.

Chelsea enjoys exploring new ideas and challenging herself to create new and exciting pieces.  For this reason, designs are not usually duplicated, with few exceptions.  She takes classes every year at William Holland School of Lapidary Arts, including classes in organic casting and inlay, which she has embraced and uses in her artwork.  Chelsea also collects quality rough stone and cabs many of the stones found in her jewelry.

When Chelsea is not working she enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, riding horses, maintaining her reef tanks, gardening, margaritas, and going to Disney World.  Her 'coworkers' are her cat, Remmy, her Aussie mix dog, Audrey, and her Appaloosa horses, Kota and Echo.
